Easy Note Cards

Hello!  Happy Sunday!  Yes...I have a card to share today:)   I made some note cards using our last name and Stamp It Big! 2 stamp set (Gina K Designs):

Totally easy to make!  The house was stamped on card stock and then paper pieced with patterned paper, cut out, and then added to the card using foam mounting tape for some dimension.
I created the name using a word processing program and then popped the house on it.
I added some washi tape along the bottom of the card and then rounded the corners.

Hope you have a great day!

A Prom, two videos and a Gina K Weekend Promotion!

Hello!  I certainly have been MIA this week. I am not really sure where the week went.  I have been cleaning and painting my living room and going to A LOT sporting events (did I mention that my kids all play one sport right now and my son plays two (baseball and flag football) and has started practices for tournament ball.  My daughter, Cara, also went to her Junior Prom last weekend--and I just have to share a picture because she looked so amazing:

This is definitely the busiest month of the year for us so I struggle to find the time to get into my stamp room.  But, I do have two inspiring videos to share with you using my new stamp set, Stamp It Big! 2.

Click HERE to see Gina's video.

Good news---This weekend Gina is giving away this free stamp set with any $25 purchase.  Just another reason to go shopping;

I used Pretty Patterns 2 to add a little fun to this clean and simple design.  I love this sentiment with the bride and groom so that it can be used as an anniversary card :)

Today we are sharing projects using Weather or Not and By The Sea 2All of these sets can now be purchased in the What's New section of the Gina K Designs store!

Here are my cards using these sets--
For my first card, I stamped the shell from By The Sea 2 on the background of the card.  Then I punched a post it note for the sun and adhered it to the blue paper and then stamped the sentiment and images over it.  I mounted it on some Kraft cardstock and then embossed the other part of the sentiment in white:

Next, a card featuring Weather Or Not!  This is a cute set and lots of fun to play with. I stamped the clouds right on the card and then stamped them again on white cardstock.  I cut out the inner part of the cloud to add over the stamped one on the card.  The Hello sentiment and the banner are from Stamp it Big!2:

Gina K Inspiration Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to the Gina K Designs Inspiration Blog Hop, Day 2! We hope to inspire you to create with the new Gina K Releases! And, as you hop through the blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose  a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a few days after the hops.
Today we are sharing projects using Simple Flowers and Stamp it Big! 2 .  All of these sets can now be purchased in the What's New section of the Gina K Designs store!

Here are my cards for today:

The first card features Simple Flowers-

For this card, I stamped the flower designs using blue rasberry, sweet corn and passionate pink ink and then added the large hi sentiment (Stamp It Big! 2) in black ink and omitted inking the dot over the I so I could replace it by stamping a flower in the set using sweet corn ink.

Next up, a few projects from Stamp It Big! 2:
I have shown many samples using this set already (scroll down to previous posts to see more!) but I also wanted to show a different use for the house.  I created a little box and made the house a school house for a teacher gift (perfect for a gift card!)-

I masked the heart by placing a piece of post-it note over the heart on the house front before inking. After inking the stamp, I removed the post-it (*use a tweezer because it will be inky!) and then stamped the house:

I drew in a rectangular box and then drew a line down the middle for the doors.  Cut the inside line and the line along the top to make them open:)  I stamped the "thanks" from the set on the roof and I added the little pencil from Back to School to make it more school oriented.
I adhered the house right to the front of the little box I created.  (Cut a piece of cardstock 6" by 6".  Score at the 2", 4" mark and then turn 90 degrees and score again at 2" and 4".  Cut slits in either end of box, fold and adhere.  Here is a basic tutorial, just change size to the numbers above!)
I finished off the box with a little handle.

Next, a simple design using Stamp It Big!2.  This card also uses two flowers from Stamp it Big! and one flower from the Spring Parade Stamp TV Kit:

Next, a graphic card using Stamp it Big! 2!

And finally, a cute little wedding card using Stamp it Big!2 and the always/forever sentiments from Stamp it Big!:

Just a demonstration on how versatile that house is!  I cannot wait to see all the clever ways people use it!

Today we are sharing projects using Pretty Patterns 2 and Bold BloomsAll of these sets can now be purchased in the What's New section of the Gina K Designs store!

Bold Blooms:

I just love the spectacular giant flowers in this set!!  After stamping the flower twice, I cut out just the center portion of the flower on the second image and added it over the other flower for dimension.  I added some Fresh Asparagus grosgrain ribbon under the flower.  I finished off the card using a sentiment from Stamp It Big! 2 stamped in the gorgeous new Black ink.

Pretty Patterns 2

I love all the ways to mix and match the patterns using this set.  For this card, I went with a classic  black and red design.  The sentiment is from Stamp It Big! 2

Stamp it Big! 2 Available Now!

If you made it to the Gina K Designs Release party, you know what a exciting (and fast-paced!) night it was---

Gina introduced the newest colors of Color Companion line and all the stamp sets and new products were unveiled and are now available to purchase.  You can check them all out HERE in the store!

Here is a look at my new set- Stamp it Big! 2:

Finally, here are some tips on using the set (I am sure you will think of even more ways to use the combination of large words and fun elements together!)

Stamp It Big! 2  Tip Sheet
As with the first set, the large sentiments make great focal points for cards.  They work well with Sentiments from Stamp it Big! as well.
Here are possible sentiment combinations just using this set:
Hello
Hello There
Love
With Love
Miss You
Love You
Thanks
With thanks
Hi
Love & Thanks
Love & Miss You
Hi & Hello
Tip: these sentiments look great stamped in multiple colored ink and covering a card front.  IT makes an easy but fun card.
Image Design ideas:
The designs in this set are LARGE---intended to take center stage on your cards or pages.
The large notched bracket houses the sentiments well for scrapbook pages and cards but it also works to stamp onto projects by itself by using the design cut off.  It also creates a great backdrop for a sentiment.  I like paper piecing this design.
You can also stamped the notched bracket and cut out to be scored and added to the card for a dimensional banner.
The house can be stamped as is OR you can mask the heart off before inking and then stamp it so that the heart is not stamped.  Add the bird in front of the house for a change.  This would make a cute
“Miss You” card.
Stamp the house image on a folded piece of card stock (fold to the left) and cut out to create an adorable mini card or gift tag.  Note: Do not cut the side with the fold!  The resulting design is a cute shaped card J [This would be so cute to add to a plate of cookies to welcome new neighbors.  Just stamp the “Hi” on the house and you have a cute mini note to add to the welcome treat.  You can put your contact info inside so they have your information.]
The house makes a great personalized luggage tag—never confuse your luggage with any one else’s again.
The bird can be used on its own or stamped and have him saying one of the phrases.  The speech bubble cut file from Stamp It Big! would work great with this fella.
Perch the bird on the chimney of the house for a cute look.
The butterflies are great whether you want solid ink filled designs or a butterfly you can piece or color.  I love stamping the solid butterfly design and then adding a stitch or a swipe of black marker down the center of the card.  Easy card idea with little effort.  Another option is to stamp the solid image and then stamp the outline in a different color over it.  Using a darker color for the outline makes the line image pop.
The brackets and arrows are accent pieces and are fun to create graphic greetings or to use in Project life or scrapbooking pages.

Here is another more card idea using this set.  I stamped the large banner, cut it out and scored it twice on each side to make a dimensional banner.  Before adding it to my card, I stamped the large hello sentiment.  Then, I embossed the solid butterfly stamp in white and stitched some black thread through the centers:

Be sure to check out all the other samples using this set from my previous posts this week.  Also, please join us for the design team blog hops Monday-Wednesday of next week to see all the new card stock, ribbon, inks, and stamps in action!

Gina K Illustrator Hop and Release Party Invite!

Hello and Good Morning! Today the Gina K Designs Illustrating team is inviting you to our Release Party, which will be held tonight from 7-9 p.m. Central time on StampTV! Hope to see you there!

Today, each illustrator is giving you another view of her new set.  So....here are a few more peeks at my new set-Stamp It Big! 2, which will be available tonight after the release party at Gina K Designs!

For my samples today---I created a few cards to show you just a few things you can do with this set.  This set also works so well with all of your other stamp sets and I will be showing you lots more samples pairing it with the new Gina K stamps next week on the blog hops!

First up---a card using the large house stamp.  This stamp is BIG...perfect for creating a card where the image is THE focus!  Love using it with and without the heart.  (To create house without heart:  Place a piece of a post it note over the heart before inking, remove post it and stamp---you have a house without the heart! I'll have a sample of this to share soon!)  I embossed the house in white and then paper pieced the heart.  I stamped the sentiment with some new Sweet Corn ink!

Next, there is a BIG banner in the set.  The banner can be stamped, cut out and then scored to be added to the card but here is another way to use it. After paper piecing the banner sections, I stamped the Hello sentiment with some Red Hot ink!  The button is from Gina K color companion collection.

Next, I stamped the solid butterflies in the set repeatedly in a grid that I scored with my Scor-Pal.  There is an outline image of this butterfly in the set too, but I just used the solid stamp for this card.  I took a black marker and just darkened the middle of each butterfly.  (It looks cool to use rhinestones or thread too!)  I embossed the large sentiment in white below the butterfly panel.  The ribbon is from Gina K collection.

Finally, I wanted to show you another fun use for the house stamp in the set.  Since this image is large---there are many things you can do with it.  Here is one of them----A luggage tag!  I paper pieced the image, and then laminated the house (you can just use clear packaging tape)  and then added the grommet.  I added some Gina K gingham ribbon through to tie the tag to a bag.  You can put your address, name or any other information on the back of the tag...there is plenty of room.  But, I think with this on your luggage--You will know which bag is yours:)

To see another sample using Stamp it Big! 2, you can check out my post right underneath this one!
Hope you like it!!
